Sligo Rovers – Bray

Sligo Rovers - Bray Wanderers betting tipBig game In Ireland between 4th placed Sligo Rovers (current champions) and 11th placed Bray Wanderers. On paper, Sligo has the advantage, but can they capitalize?

After Dundalk and St. Patricks both won yesterday, Sligo has to get the three points here this if they want to stand any chance of challenging for the title. Today`s hosts are 4th in the league, 7 points from the leaders but with one games in hand. They also have two less played games than 2nd placed Dundalk (who is 6 points above Sligo in the standings). It`s obvious that Sligo will be very motivated to win this.

Bray is currently second to last, just two points above Bohemians. They sit on the relegation playoff spot but they could escape the drop zone if they get a point here, so both Sligo and Bray are desperate for points in this one.

The hosts were o a 5 match winless run in all competitions until last week, but they had really tough matches against Molde (twice), St. Patricks or Shamrock. They won at 3rd placed Derry City in the last round after a very solid display and they seem to be back on track. Bray is in horrible form at the moment, they haven`t won a game since early June and have only 3 points in the last 7 games. If they keep this up they have no chances of staying in the Premier League.

Sligo is way better than their opponents and they like to win by a big margin at home. They will try to score a couple of times today to avoid a tense finish to the game. Also, Bray lost 7 out of their 11 away games, so they are not feeling to good when they are the visiting team. Another important factor is that Bray has by far the worst defense in the league, so surely they won`t be able to hold Sligo off too long. The hosts can put a lot of goals past this wrethced defense.

No team has big injury worries for today.

I don`t think Sligo can blow its title race against one of the worst teams in the league. The hosts will keep possession, dominate the game from start to finish and they should be able to win it comfortably. I`m going with Sligo Rovers to cover the 1,5 spread and win by at least two goals.
