Sparta Prague hosts Malmo FF in the first leg of the Champions League third qualifying round.
I have Sparta Prague as the best underdog in this years’ Champions League. The group stages are still far away but I think they will go there and even make a good impression. Sparta Prague patiently built a squad in the last seasons and now they have an amazing team which won the league last year by 13 points and won 25 games, drew 4 and lost 1! They are even stronger this year and started the season very well: won first game in the league, won the Supercup 3-0 vs. Plzen and won 8-1 aggregate over Levadia in the UCL 2nd qual. round (7-0 at home, relaxed in the 2nd leg for 1-1 draw). Sparta is virtually unbeatable at home: last season won all 15 home games with 49-7 goal difference, so winning every home game with an average result of 3-0! They did not do too well last year in Europe but they only started showing their class after the first couple of weeks of the season.

Malmo is the best team in Sweden and will probably win the title again this year, they have a very good record domestically and lead the league by 9 points currently. Malmo comes after a good 3-1 result Kalmar and has a good squad for Swedish level but the question about them is if Sweden’s football level is enough to compete with teams like Sparta Prague. Malmo barely qualified over a poor Ventspils side last week, 0-0 at home and 1-0 away, so even if they are the best in Sweden, it does not mean so much at this level in Europe. Last year in Europa League they lost 4-0 at Swansea and honestly the way Sparta Prague is playing … maybe they are not Swansea, but not far either.
Sparta Prague is simply brilliant at the moment and I can’t see any team from Sweden, even Malmo, giving them problems, especially not in the Czech Republic. Sparta Prague is a better team than Malmo without a doubt, they are in marvelous form and are one of the best teams in Europe at home. I have full confidence that Sparta Prague will win this game and with a little bit of luck they could resolve the qualification with a lopsided result in this first leg. Expect Malmo to crumble under Sparta’s brilliant offensive force. My tip will be Sparta Prague to win with -1,25 asian handicap and I will go with maximum stakes on this bet; I am sure the odds will drop until match time. Correct score prediction: Sparta Prague – Malmo 3-0.
