Villarreal will be very confident after the big win against Atletico Madrid, but they have to prove that was not a solitary result. Until they do that, fact remains that they have been poor in the last month or so. Visiting Gijon might seem like an easy travel, but the hosts need points like air and will do all they can to make this a physical, fragmented contest.
Gijon’s results this season have been far from spectacular, especially lately, but the team was competitive in all recent defeats.
