Instant memories of that friendly 2-2 draw in Euro 2004 came to mind when Sweden and Denmark were drawn together in the Euro 2016 playoffs, but with so much at stake in this tie, there`s no doubt these two Nordic sides will be at eachother`s throats today.
Sweden has been solid in the qualifying group and was on track to finish second, as Austria was too strong for everybody. However, the Swedes blew it in the second to last national team roundup, when they lost to both Russia and Austria, ending up on the third place, two points behind the Russians. On the bright side, Sweden ended the group with two 2-0 wins against Liechtenstein and Moldova – not impressive, but surely morale boosting. Also, Sweden won 5 of their last 7 home matches.
Denmark was on track to qualify directly to Euro 2016 by finishing second behind Portugal, but they gained only two points in their last three matches and ended up on the third place, behind Albania! The Danes didn`t show anything special during the qualies and were rather poor in friendlies as well, losing to France (twice), Romania and Turkey. Offense has been a real problem for the visitors, as they scored just 8 goals in 8 matches in the group.

Team news & lineups:
Ekdal and Wernbloom won`t be in Sweden’s lineup, while Kallstrom and Lewicki are questionable, but both should be available in the end. Denmark will have to do without Andreasen and Sisto.
Sweden: Isaksson – Lustig, Granqvist, Antonsson, Olsson – Larsson, Khalili, Kallstrom, Zengin – Ibrahimovic, Berg
Denmark: Schmeichel – Jacobsen, Kjaer, Agger, Durmisi – Kvist, Hojbjerg – Braithwaite, Krohn-Dehli, Eriksen – Bendtner
Sweden is a team that does not lose often and is very hard to beat. They are organized, play well tactically and have the X factor in Ibrahimovic, who was instrumental in this qualifying campaign. With the PSG star leading the line again, I believe Sweden has what it takes to defeat Denmark, but it might be wise to back up a bet on Sweden with an asian handicap.
A draw is not out of the question with these two teams. Sweden does not have much offensive threat aside from Ibrahimovic, while Denmark is a classic 0-0 team. However, the Swedes have been much better over these qualies and should really win this tie. A win at home would facilitate that greatly, so I am backing the hosts here. My tip is Sweden to win with a 0,25 asian handicap. Ibrahimovic to score might also be a good bet, as he has been the difference maker in most of Sweden’s key matches. Prediction: Sweden – Denmark 1-0.
Pick: Sweden (-0,25 Asian Handicap)

I like your pick, but somehow i think Denmark have the edge here. Scandinavian teams are usually very well organised, but this Sweden team is an exception. They were very organised at the previous qualifiers, but they lost their brilliant coach, who went on to coach Iceland(and look how well they are playing). Sweden is playing well under there potential. Also Denmark has Morten Olssen, who is a very good coach..
I would go with Denmark in this one
if you think denmark have the edge whi do you like he s pick.it make no sense what so ever, you like the pick but you will go with denmark. funny people
You are harsh Raul maybe he liked the text. I believe too that it is Swede win
Sweden and Denmark have a historical rivalry but nowadays the both are in a poor shape. As far as I am concerned, the match will be on the edge , because the importance of the match is huge.
Few goals today…
