After losing to last year’s champions Cleveland last night, Toronto will have to face the 2015/2016 finalists Golden State just 24 hours later. Raptors are 5 point underdogs coming into this game, but the line is moving up.

Toronto (7-3, 4-2 home) played a good game in Cleveland last night and fell just short in a 4 point loss. The Raptors are having a solid year and they should be able to get back to the Eastern Conference finals for a second consecutive year, given that Lowry and DeRozan stay healthy. Golden State (8-2, 4-1 away) is the big favorite to win the Championship this year after they added Kevin Durant in the summer. The Warriors were a bit shaky in the start of the season, but it was clear that they needed some time to integrate such a big piece like Kevin Durant. Interior defense and defense in general remain a problem and will likely remain a problem for a while, but there`s not much else wrong with Golden State right now.

The situation for Toronto doesn`t look good coming into this match. Not only are they back to back, but they are playing the two best teams in the league on two consecutive nights. That`s a lot to ask, even from a good team like Toronto. What’s more, Golden State hasn`t played since Sunday night, so they will be as fresh as they could be.

Toronto’s coach Dwayne Casey was quoted as saying “The computer that spit out the schedule, I`m going to find it and break it”. That pretty much tells you that Toronto is not quite happy with playing this match 24 hours after the Cleveland game.

Toronto`s only chance is a big night by DeRozan and Lowry, along with a top performance by Valanciunas inside, where Golden State is vulnerable. But Lowry played 40 minutes last night, DeRozan played 34, Valanciunas 34 and these three will have to log big minutes again. It remains to be seen DeRozan and Lowry can carry the Raptors in the 4th quarter like they always do. Toronto will need them as much as ever considering the fact that Golden State is certain to put up a lot of points.

The Warriors won`t lose many games this year and they would be clear cut favorites to win this even in normal circumstances, but the schedule gives them a very important advantage which I`m sure they will take.

The way to challenge this Golden State team is to play with a lot of energy and attack the basket. I don`t think Toronto can do that after just playing Cleveland, so my tip will be Golden State to cover the 5 point handicap.
