🏀 Toronto Raptors – Indiana Pacers ✅

Howdy everyone, long time no see! I’ve been watching quite a lot of NBA over the past few months, so I feel ready to get back into the mix with a tip for Wednesday night, when the Toronto Raptors will host the Indiana Pacers at the Scotiabank Arena.

The Raptors (19-35, 11-15 home) have made the decision to tank this season, trading Paskal Siakam and OG Anunoby, while also letting go of Dennis Schroeder for an expiring contract. Toronto has been hot garbage following the trades, having lost 14 of their last 18 games and truly playing some of the ugliest basketball in the league. The last show put on by the Raptors was a horrific 23 point home loss to the San Antonio Spurs, the team with the third worst record in the league.

The Pacers (30-25, 13-14 away) are coming off a pathetic performance themselves, a loss in Charlotte against the 12-41 Hornets. The result was shocking considering Indiana’s solid play of late, as they were holding a streak of 3 wins in 4 games, including beating the Knicks in New York just a few nights ago.

Injury report: The Pacers come into this game healthy, while the Raptors have RJ Barrett questionable.

Both teams looked dreadful in their last outings, but unlike the Raptors, the Pacers just had an off night. For the Raptors, these kind of performances seem to happen more often than not, while for the Pacers you don’t expect it to happen two nights in a row.

I think Indiana will come out with a lot of energy after the upset in Charlotte and will look to avoid losing another game they should win, especially as the race for the playoffs is as tight as it could be. As for Toronto, I don’t trust them at all to improve their performance, especially with their second best player below 100%. I will assume Barrett plays (hence taking this bet early), but he has missed practice and might not be at his best.

I’m backing the better team here, the Raptors are just dreadful. Prediction: Toronto Raptors – Indiana Pacers 110 – 120.
