Turkey – Croatia

The Euro 2016 Group D will debut with the match between Turkey and Croatia, an evenly matched affair with the Croatians rated as slight favorites by the bookmakers. Spain and the Czech Republic are the other two teams in this group and they will play on Monday.

Croatia played two friendlies in preparation for Euro 2016, 1-0 against Moldova and 10-0 against San Marino, so they were not tested coming into the tournament.

Both teams are healthy and can field their best lineups from the players that were called up to Euro 2016.

Croatia is the better team quality wise, but Turkey is playing really well lately and they should be able to pose real problems in this one. Both teams have proved themselves very hard to defeat in the last year or so and as such, a bet on the draw makes sense here.

Obviously neither team can afford to lose this and they will be cautious in approaching their Euro 2016 opener. I expect a tactical encounter and I reckon both sides would be more or less satisfied with 1 point. All in all, my tip is the draw, I think it`s the most likely result in this one.
