Udinese – Juventus

Udinese Juventus betting previewJuventus will look to make another giant step towards the Serie A title when they travel to a worry-free Udinese side on Monday evening.

Juve has 5 points ahead of Roma and a game in hand, so they can make it 8 tonight with 5 rounds to go, which would almost guarantee the title for the Old Lady. The visitors played fantastic football in the last few months, winning 13 of their last 15 games, including the last 3 against Livorno and Lyon (twice). The only downside to Juve’s season has been the unlucky exit from the Champions League group stage, but aside from that Conte’s side has really matured and looks like one of the best teams in the world right now.

Udinese is a good side and despite their current 14th placement in the standings, they are clear of relegation having a 13 point advantage over the danger zone. The hosts are in pretty solid form right now, losing just once in the previous 4 games despite meeting solid opponents. The defeat came last round, 1-2 against Fiorentina on the road.

Team news & lineups

Udinese will not be able to count on Lazzari, Pinzi and Badu. Juventus will miss Barzagli, Vidal and Pepe, while Tevez is highly doubtful and probably will start on the bench (at best).

Udinese: Scuffet – Heurtaux, Danilo, Domizzi – Basta, Yebda, Allan, Pereyra, Gabriel Silva – Fernandes – Di Natale

Juventus: Buffon – Caceres, Bonucci, Chiellini – Lichtsteiner, Marchisio, Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah – Llorente, Osvaldo

Juventus to win seems like the obvious bet here and I do think the Old Lady will eventually take home the three points, but the odds are a little low for my taste considering that Udinese is a good team, tough to beat at home. I will pick the under 2,5 goals instead, which I think has roughly the same chances to happen as a Juventus win, but at much better odds. Juve is well known for its defense, they rarely concede goals and are usually satisfied to win 1-0 or 2-0 even against the weakest teams, especially on the road. Udinese is the same type of team except they have less firepower upfront – and especially at home against the big teams Udine can put on a great defensive show, waiting for Di Natale to create something on counters. The fact that Tevez will probably not play is another argument. My tip is under 2,5 goals. Prediction: Udinese – Juventus 0-1 – the same result which was registered between the two earlier this season in Turin.
