Udinese has taken a bad turn in management in the past years. Remember when they were coached by Guidolin, and finished 4th? They played Arsenal in the CL qualifiers, in the playoff last round. The next year they again qualified for the CL qualifiers and lost to Braga, on penalties … They were very strong back then. However Guidolin resigned as coach and moved into management. They played very bad, under Stramaccioni and continue to play very bad now, under Colantuono. Udinese are traditionally a mid table team, just like Sampdoria, but in the last 2 years, Sampdoria played very well, made big investments, while Udinese just sold players…So now, i don’t understand the odds.

Udinese are without their best player from last season, Allan, sold to Napoli, whereas Sampdoria managed to keep hold of their star players, namely Eder and Muriel … even though they let go of Eto’o, but Eto’o was never a key player at Sampdoria anyway.
Samp has fired Zenga, and hired Montella, who was a key figure at Doria in his playing days. I consider him a very very good coach. He left Fiorentina because the president did not like his demands (he wanted to buy players, to make Fiorentina a great club, and that was more than what the management had to offer). When he left Fiorentina he said he can not do any better with the squad he has. He also knew that some players like Gomez, Cuadradro, Joaquin, Savic, Pizarro, will leave … so he left as well. Now at Samp, he has a chance to show again what a great coach he is.
Not much to say about the lineups, no important missing players for either team so both coaches can be happy about this. Sampdoria +0.5 handicap is my pick, I believe they will not lose this match and I will stake my classic 8 units on this bet.
