There was little drama before this one-sided tie and everything went according to the odds last week, with the southamericans winning in style. Uruguay is surely 99,9% qualified to the World Cup after the 5-0 drubbing they gave Jordan in the first leg, but of course they still have to complete the job at home.
Uruguay has a fantastic squad with some amazing players and achieved some great success with this generation of footballers (fourth place in WC 2010, winning Copa America and gaining impressive victories against top sides). For these reasons, their 5th place finish in the qualification group was a little bit disappointing. However, Uruguay knew all along that they will qualify via the playoffs. The hosts won 7 out of the last 10 games played and have shown a real eye for goal in the process.
A very defensive team, Jordan did well to reach this stage, finishing 3rd in Asia behind Australia and Japan. They had a single loss in the last 16 matches (0-4 in Australia) before falling 0-5 to the uruguayans at home last week. Jordan was clearly outplayed and it was proved that their performances were mainly due to the poor opposition they faced. They will have a very tough task challenging a team like Uruguay on the road. Jordan has little experience playing such strong opponents, especially away from the comfort of their own country.

Team news & lineups
There will be no important changes in the squads that played last week. Uruguay seems to be very focused for this game. Coach Tabarez is planning to field the best possible first 11 and he has repeatedly called for determination from his players. He said that he understands a lack in motivation, but will make sure that the players will give it their all. The same motivational speech came from guys like Rios or Cavani, so Uruguay seems to respect Jordan and try to play as well as they did in the first game.
Uruguay : Muslera – Fucile , Diego Godin , Diego Lugano , Maxi Periera – Diego Perez , Christian Rodriguez , Arevalo – Suarez , Stuani , Cavani.
Jordan : Amer Shafi – Basem Fathi , Mohammad Ali , Shadi Abu Hashhash , Anas Bani Yaseen – Oday Zahran , Amer Deeb , Khalil Baniyateah , Abdallah Deeb Sahim – Odai Al Saifi , Ahmad Hayal.
Seeing the first match of the tie, it`s hard to look past another dominating win for Uruguay. I actually thought that Jordan will keep it close at home, but the quality gap was just too big. The hosts seem to be motivated, and a key factor will be playing at home. Jordan is traditionally poor on the road, and playing in South America against such a strong opponent will be extremely hard for them. I expect Uruguay to win this game comfortably. You can hardly find any value and the hosts, but I will go with a 3 goal asian handicap despite the odds being a little short. My pick is Uruguay – Jordan 4-0. The odds are simply plummeting, so I would take this one early.

Now I’ve seen some surprise results in my day but this takes the cake. Haven’t seen the match but I am inclined to think certain people have made some good money on this “surprise” draw today. Or maybe I am just paranoid, but probably not. Draw had odds of 16…
I could have seen this result in Jordan, but to see it in South America is shocking. However, these things happen. Without evidence I can`t put the blame on a fixed match and I have to fault my own analysis.
