Dinamo – Juventus Buc

Dinamo Juventus Liga 1 prediction

Dinamo Bucharest will take on Juventus Bucharest in the 14th round of the Romanian Liga 1, with both teams in desperate need of points.

It has been a very disappointing campaign for Dinamo so far. Rated as title challengers before the season, the Red Dogs initially started well, playing good football, but things quickly turned sour. The hosts are currently on the 8th place in the standings and haven`t won in 5 games (2 draws, 3 losses). They changed the manager last month and will hope that the International break allowed the team to regain confidence and obtain chemistry under new coach Miriuta.

Juventus Bucharest has gained just 4 points in 13 rounds so far, and is dead last in the standings, with relegation seeming inevitable for them at this point. Despite winning the second league last season, Juventus was always going to struggle this year, as they lack quality, and are objectively the worst team in the division. The visitors have not won a single game this season and claimed only one point away from home.

Team news & lineups:

Dinamo will miss regular center back Nedelcearu, while first choice keeper Penedo is questionable – having just returned from Panama after qualifying to the World Cup. Adam Nemec also traveled back from Slovakia, having scored two goals for them against Malta last week, but he should start. Juventus hasn`t reported any injuries or suspensions.

Dinamo Bucharest: Branescu – Romera, Dudea, Katsikas, Filip – Anton, Nascimento – Hanca, Costache, Salomao – Nemec

Juventus Bucharest: Draghia – Beta, Benga, Wallace, Stefan – Barbulescu, Mihaescu – Calintaru, Sesar, Dzalamidze – Mazarache

I have to admit I didn`t have much success betting on Dinamo this season, losing 2 or 3 predictions on them in the last few months, but that won`t deter me from taking what I think is a very good bet here. Dinamo has odds as high as 1.40 to win, which honestly makes no sense.

The Red Dogs might have struggled recently, but they remain a good team in Liga 1 and will likely finish Top 5 at the end of the season. The International break last week was very important for the Red Dogs, as it should have allowed them to calm down, regain some confidence and get adjusted with the new manager.

While I don`t expect Dinamo to suddenly turn it around and play lights out football, fact is that even a mediocre performance should be more than enough to take care of this poor Juventus team.

The visitors are the worst side in Liga 1, they are in even worse form than Dinamo, and are completely useless on the road. They also have a poor defense, which is not a good matchup when you take on Dinamo.

Dinamo can struggle to break down good, organized defensive teams which park the bus effectively and use fast counterattacks, but that is not the case of Juventus. The visitors haven`t kept a clean sheet in 10 games and allow an average of 1.77 goals per game – which is a lot in a very poor league like the Romanian one.

The difference in quality between these two sides is considerable, and Juventus is not a team from which you can expect upsets (they lost all their games against Top 9 Top 8 opposition). Earlier this season, Dinamo beat Juventus away from home (on neutral ground in fact) 3-0.

It would make no sense to me if Dinamo was to lose the 3 points here, and I believe odds on the hosts shouldn`t be above 1.25. The (very) poor form of Dinamo I think is a bit misleading coming into this match, because it shouldn`t account for much when you meet an opponent like Juventus. Plus, Dinamo is a good team and is expected to turn things around, and there`s also the International break which could prove helpful.

My tip is Dinamo Bucharest to cover the -1 asian handicap and I am comfortable with a maximum stakes bet here. Prediction: Dinamo Bucharest – Juventus Bucharest 3-0.
