The first round of the Romanian Liga 1 will see Dinamo Bucharest take on Otelul Galati at Stefan Cel Mare stadium, Bucharest.
Dinamo is going trough some tough times, the team is in serious financial trouble and is currently in an insolvability state, trying to avoid bankruptcy. Even so, due to the poor state of the league, Dinamo is still a top team in Romania and looks good value to finish at least in the top 5 or top 6. The hosts sold a number of important players in the summer break but still have a pretty good squad composed of talented young players and a couple of decent foreign imports and started the season really well with a solid 3-1 win at Chiajna in the League Cup – Chiajna being a similar team to Otelul. Dinamo finished 4th last year but was denied European football due to the financial problems.
Otelul barely escaped relegation last year and does not look able to improve on their performance this season. The visitors will fight for avoiding the drop again: a lot of players from last season left, some replacements came in, all in all Otelul has a relatively poor squad, they will suffer with chemistry for a while and they also have some financial problems themselves. Otelul started the season with a 0-0 draw against Ceahlaul at home in the League Cup, losing the match at penalties – but honestly they should have lost in regular time, and Ceahlaul is a team that made a fool of themselves yesterday, losing 4-0 against CFR in the league.

Team news & lineups
Both sides have a couple of squad issues but will be able to field similar lineups to those used in the League Cup last week. Dinamo has serious problems in defense after their 3 best defender left the club last year, also the only replacement brought in for the defensive area (Cordos) is out.

I think Dinamo will have too much for this low-quality Otelul side which will also struggle with chemistry and playing relations (so many new players), but I don`t like the odds on the hosts. The best pick here is the over in my opinion. Dinamo has big problems in the defensive area and the visitors should be able to get a couple of chances, score 1 goal. On the other side Dinamo is very good up front and I trust them to score at least twice in front of their own fans, maybe even 3 times with a little bit of luck. Watching Dinamo`s game with Chiajna last week it became clear that Dinamo will be involved in high scoring games at least in the start of the season, there were so many chances in that game, it could have finished 2-5, and the odds for the over were 2.60!! Dinamo and Otelul met late last season at this venue and Dinamo won 3-1, I expect a similar result this time around with some defensive mistakes from both sides to show for. As I said I think Dinamo will win, but my tip is over 2,5 goals and odds are going down on this bet. Prediction: Dinamo Bucharest – Otelul Galati 3-1.
