Bucks – Hawks

Bucks Hawks NBA preview

The Milwaukee Bucks will host the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night in the NBA.

The Bucks (31-24, 18-9 home) last played Saturday, when they defeated the Orlando Magic 111-104 on the road. It was the 8th win in the last 10 games for Milwaukee, and the hosts are definitely playing good basketball right now, despite missing a few rotation players. The Bucks are currently the 5th seed in the East but have every chance of finishing Top 3 or at least Top 4 (for home court advantage). As such, they can`t afford to drop games like these at home.

The Hawks (18-39, 5-22 away) are tied for the second worst record in the NBA, but they did show some improvement recently. Atlanta is 4-6 in the last 10 games and won their last match, a 3 point home win over Detroit on Sunday. Nevertheless, the Hawks are still 5-22 on the road, continuing to struggle big time away from home.

Team news: The Bucks will miss Henson, Dellavedova, Brogdon and Teletovic, while Jabari Parker is slightly doubtful. The Hawks will be without Cavanaugh, White and Mac – none of them being important players.

Milwaukee does miss a few notable rotation pieces, but that is nothing new. Most of those guys have been out long term, and Milwaukee did very well without them recently.

The Bucks have been great this season and especially lately against weaker opposition. The last time they lost against a non playoff team was way back in December, which really is an amazing stat. They will definitely feel confident about their chances here.

There`s an obvious quality difference between these two sides, the Bucks do very well against inferior opposition, and then there`s also the home court advantage. That will be extra important considering how good the Bucks are at home (18-9) and how bad the Hawks are away (5-22, worst in the league).

There`s nobody on the Hawks who can stop the Greek Freak, Giannis Antentoukmpo, who scored 33 points in the previous meeting this season – when the Bucks won by 11 in Atlanta a few months ago – so I will back Milwaukee to win this rather comfortably. My tip is the Bucks to cover the 7 point (asian) handicap. I reckon a 7 unit stake is reasonable here as per my analysis. Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks – Atlanta Hawks 114 – 98.
