The biggest derby in Romanian football will see Steaua take on Dinamo at National Arena, with the hosts as massive favorites (odds 1.60) for the 3rd year in a row.
Steaua (1st place) has lost some power compared to the last 2 years, but the hosts are still the best team in Romania and, while they are not blowing teams out on a regular basis, they are still able to win most games and score a lot of goals. Dinamo has been a bit inconsistent this season, they have a young squad and are alternating excellent matches, scoring lots of goals, with poor performances in which they struggle on both ends of the field. The Red Dogs have won 3-2 against Pandurii in the last round but followed that up with a horrible 0-1 defeat to Second League side Mioveni in the Cup, despite coach Stoican fielding a pretty strong lineup.

I reckon Steaua has the first chance to win this but the best bet is the over 2,5 goals as far as I`m concerned. Both sides like to play attacking minded football and have a ton of quality up front, with Dinamo having a horrible defense at the same time. Expect Steaua to keep possession and dominate, creating a lot of chances, while Dinamo will have it`s own opportunities on counters – the Red Dogs are arguably the best counterattacking side in Romania so they will benefit from the spaces Steaua will leave, and likely score. The last 9 matches between these two have seen at least 2 goals, with 6 of them seeing over 2,5 goals. My tip is over 2,5 goals and the odds are going down on this bet. Prediction: Steaua Bucharest – Dinamo Bucharest 2-1.
