After my 2 stage tips I will also post 2 General Classification bets. My first pick is for Astana climber and former Tour de France winner Vicenzo Nibali to win at the end of the 6 stages here.
This race only has 2 stages that are clearly sprinter stages and this will really be good for Nibali. He likes to take risks and he could get some seconds over his rivals in any stage because of his excellent climbing and descending. In my opinion this tricky stages give him the advantage over his main rival Porte who is more of a conservative rider.
The most important stage will be the 4th one on Green Mountain. The final climb will be 7.5 kilometers long at a gradient of 10.7%. This stage can only be won by a very strong climber and if everybody here is at the same form Noibali is the strongest by far.
Speaking of form I think Nibali should be good. In the last years his early form was not great but his main objective was always Tour de France which is held in July. This year his objective is Tour of Italy which is held in May so his form will be better. He already has a race under his belt in San Luis where he was decent helping his south american team mate Lopez to get a good result on his home Continent.
Nibali loves this race considering he always chose to come here in thelast 4 years. In the 2 years he had Giro as his objective he finished 7th and 2nd.
Nibali will have a strong team here with inform Grivko and strong Fuglsang. His main rival Porte will not have the greatest support here. He changed his team this winter and for this race he does not have any really strong climbers to help him as he used to at his old team Sky.
