This one is for Etixx rider Dan Martin to win the 1 day classis Liege Bastogne Liege. 7.13 odds available at Pinnacle are too high for a guy with Martin qualities in my opinion.
Liege Bastogne Liege is a hard race with a lot of climbs and only good climbers can win it. Bad weather is expected this year and this combination of climbing and harsh conditions makes Martin even a bigger favorite.
Dan Martin already won LBL once in 2013 and in 2014 he was very close to do it again when he was in the first position with less than 1 kilometers to go but crashed. In 2015 he crashed again and did not finished the race.
Martin changed the team this year and this will most likely help him. Etixx is a better team with better training methods and better support than his older team Cannondale. A big advantage for him is the fact that Etixx have another big favorite in Alaphilipe. This means Martin will be free to attack while the other riders will hesitate to chase and bring Alaphilppe at the finish with them.
Martin showed great form in some races like Vuelta a Catalunya and Vualta Valenciana this year. He won a stage in both of them. 4 days ago in Fleche Wallone he was also very strong on Murd'Huy finishing third after a very strong attack.
