This one is for the General Classification of the 5 days stage race Vuelta a Andalucia. The tip is about Bart De Clercq to finish on a better position than Maxime Monfort.
This 2 guys are in different stages of their careers. Monfort is 33 years old and his performances got worse in the last years. Meanwhile De Clercq is 29 years old and despite of his age he is still improving as he showed last year.
I read an interview with one of Lotto SOUDAL sport director Bart Leysen where he says that he expects De Clercq to compete for the General Classifcation while Monfort will be here to guide the younger guys. His exact words were: 'Bart De Clercq and Tim Wellens are guys who can both handle a tough stage and ride a decent time trial.....Maxime Monfort and Jelle Vanendert are the most experienced riders in the selection and they can guide or coach the others.'
Like I already said De Clercq is still improving and he was amazing in the second part of 2015. He was very strong in Tour of Poland finishing second ahead of quality riders like Zakarin or Aru. After that great result he was also great in Vuelta finishing 14 which is very good for him.
Like I said in my previous tip this race will be decided by the Time Trial and the climb in the final stage. He is a decent time trialist and his climbing was also great in the end of 2015.
