We all know what happened last time when Arsenal took the field at Stamford Bridge: a 6-0 absolute humiliation by Chelsea in Wenger's 1000th game in charge. We all know Mourinho has Wenger`s number, never losing in the 11 (if I recall correctly) meetings between them. I have never seen Arsenal fans so scared of a match in my life, the Gunners are really terrified that Wenger will be outclassed again and it could be a big loss considering Chelsea's form.
That being said, my money is on Arsenal today. There is just too much hype over last seasons' result and many people forget the Gunners had to play with a second string team back then, depleted by injuries, there was also a red card.
Arsenal is undefeated this season in the Premier League. It is a huge match for them from all points of view. They are 6 points behind Chelsea in the standings, so they need something here badly. They want to set the record straight after last year's drubbing, as Wenger said. You can see the Gunners are very motivated and even though they were struggling a bit with putting the team together after the summer signings, they are doing well and playing well, they are terribly hard to beat. The 4-1 win against Galatasaray will be a boost and Alexis, Ozil and Welbeck are in great form.
Chelsea no doubt a great team, only a crazy man would state otherwise and I fully respect their capacities. I fancy them to win it all at the end, but Schalke proved recently that they can be kept under control at Stamford Bridge and Arsenal is too good of a team to not have the chance to do the same.
Arsenal not to lose is the value of the day. 1-1 is my call. I'll risk the 10 units despite the general opinion that Chelsea will own the match and I feel the result from last year is having too much of an impact on the betting market today.
