I am usually more of a football guy than tennis guy, but I am smelling some nice value in this all Portugese first round clash in Estoril. We have the former Portugese number 1, Rui Machado, now outside of Top 200 and current leader of the Davis Cup team Joao Sousa.
Machado played against English number 1 James Ward last week in Barcelona, qualifier match of course, and could only take 5 games from a lad that is not a clay court player. As weird as it may sound, Machado was shocked by the step up in quality, because he didn't play against players ranked that high in a very long time, competing almost exclusively in the Futures tour.
Joao Sousa isn't in his best form either, but I fancy him to win this, he's so much better than Machado and played pretty well in Barcelona, taking a set from Giraldo in the second round.
1.30 would be a fair price for Sousa in my eyes.
