So this is a bit late but believe it or not I haven't had electricity for almost 24 hours so that was fun.
A game between two players at different places in their career. Mchale was a great hope for the Americans a couple of years ago when she was doing great on American hard courts, US Open included. Since then she has had problems with a couple of injuries and bad form and fell in the rankings. This tournament is one of the best results in the last period and it was a complete surprise. Her game is better suited for fast surfaces, she has a good first serve, loves hitting the lines and to play aggressive tennis. She has improved her movement around the court which makes her a bit better on clay.
Gavrilova practically came to thr stage this year with some great results, demonstrating a great potential. Her game is similar to that played by Halep these days, strong from the back of the court, she has great movement around the court and it seems like clay is her surface. She can be an all-rounder and she has a lot of potential. This tournament she defeated Belinda Bencic, Ana Ivanovic and Timea Baczinsky so her confidence should be very high.
I expect Gavrilova to win most long points, around 60%. She is the favorite here in my opinion and odds of 2.10 are great and have value. Her lack of experience and Mchale's explosive style are what make me only risk 5 units.
