Serena Williams - Lucie Safarova 🎾

The final for the womes's Rolland Garros. Believe me, I know how this pick looks like but I think that I have the justification.
This year, Rolland Garros was a festival of surprises as far as the women's competition was concerned. Serena Williams could have been one the surprise but she always managed to pull back from the brink just in time. To get to the final she defeated Hlavackova, Friedsam (3 sets), Azarenka (3 sets), Sloane Stephens (3 sets), Sara Errani, and Timea Bacsinszky (3 sets). It was not and easy road, four sets lost, and tough games especially against Stephens and Azarenka. Serena alternated between periods when she played her beautiftul attacking tennis when nobody can stand in her way with moments when her many unforced errors meant her opponents had to do little in order to actually win. She is a great champion and that cannot be denied and she always managed to rally just in time to pull off the win.
Safarova played a pretty much a perfect tournament. She defeated Pavlyucenkova, Nara, Lisicki, Sharapova, Muguruza and Ivanovic without losing a set. She has a had run but managed to outplay her opponents. Sheplayed her usual aggressive tennis but in this tournament, somehow, she managed to gain a consistency that she had been lacking in the past. She has very powerfull shots, not as strong as Serena's but good, her movement around the court is pretty much an equal to Serena's in my opinion.
So let's talk about the bad in this pick, and I know it will sound very bad. The head to head is 10-0 to Serena. This is Safarova's first grand slam final and she is known to have emotional problems. This sound awful and makes Serena the favorite of the game to be sure. The odds on Safarova I think are correct, the no clear value. But I think Safarova actually has a chance. Serena's game was just not that good. She was actually outplayed at times by weaker opponents, and the last few years have proved that Serena is ot invincible. Safarova should be coming into this final with great morale, she defeated some great players along the way, her game was a pleasure to watch and she has nothing to lose. Serena has noted that she has some medical problems and will probably not be at 100% physically in the final. So, my advice, use a bookie that counts a withdrawal as a loss but I really don't know which do that so if someone can help out with that information I would appreciate it. But regardless of that, Safarova can beat Serena without the injury. In a game played this year she lost to Serena in a third set tiebreak, she was close. If Safarova can get past the head to head and the staked of the game which are huge for her and maintain a positive attitude she can win this. I'm expecting short points, Serena will probably force the issue and have more winners and more unforced errors. A lot will hang on Safarova's serve because if she can get the first ball in it would be significantly easier for her to try and hold serve. Breaks on Serena's serve will be hard to come by so holding your owb is crucial. Safarova needs to manage to stay in the game at the beginning and then she has an actual shot in my opinion. It should be a great game.
