Cincinnati Masters outright winner poll. Who wins it all?

Cincinnati 2015 MastersHaven`t had a blog post in the last couple of weeks on Betdistrict, so how about a short one for tennis fans, a simple poll to see how each of us are viewing the Cincinnati Masters outright market?

As Cincy is currently in the 3rd round and things are beginning to shape up, Djokovic (2.00), Federer (4.25) and Murray (4.75) remain huge favorites over the rest of the pack – but Rafa at 15.50 and Stanimal at 14.50 are surely contenders as well. All in all, who do you think will be the outright winner for the whole thing? I for one am on the safe side, voting Nole over Federer in the final.

No more facebook for Betdistrict

Since a few weeks ago Betdistrict is no longer on facebook, so I thought it might be Ok to make a short announcement about it here on the website, mostly for the readers that were also our fans on the social network.

Basically our facebook page got suspended for motives that are just too imbecilic to even discuss further, so we decided “the hell with it” and leave that social network for good.

You can still find me (Rostick) on facebook if you want to discuss Betdistrict matters, but it`s unclear if I will keep my account much longer and I won`t visit it too often either.

If you want to follow our sports banter connect with us via Twitter, where we were always most active and felt more comfortable anyway. Cheers!

7 for 7: Know your tipsters better. Episode 5, RODMAN10

7 for 7 betting tips betdistrict7 for 7: Know your tipsters better is an article-series developed by Betdistrict, focusing on profiling the tipsters that bring you daily picks on our website. We have a small snippet, personal info and interviews containing 7 questions. The first ‘season’ of the series will see 7 of our tipsters interviewed. If you find the articles useful and enjoyable, the series will continue with a second season.

Rodman betdistrict tipsterRodman10, a 29 year old “proud Croatian”, is one of the longest serving tipsters on Betdistrict and still owns the longest winning streak on the website – hitting no less than 16 bets in a row. Even though previous months didn`t work out as well, Rodman10 still holds a solid profit with over 7,5% Yield from over 100 picks (as of July 2015). His previews are of good quality and he likes to bet mostly on football, though he says it`s far from being his favorite sport. Ladies and gentlemen, episode 5 of our tipster series: Rodman10.

How did you become involved in sports betting and when did you start earning constantly?
I think like many of us, I always had an interest in sports. As a kid I was fascinated by the betting shops and “that world”. Early in highschool I started visiting them, betting some accumumators … it was a nice time with less responsibilities, just having fun betting with some friends. I started making money consistently and being more professional after I finished high school. I still have weeks or sometimes 1-2 months (rarely) without betting. It is still a hobby for me, maybe between a hobby and a second job.

At the beginning of your “Betdistrict career”, you had an incredible 16-match winning streak! Those were actually your first 16 tips on the website, what a start! How did you feel about that?
Sure I remember that, honestly I was proud of that and nice that you remember too. Many people were encouraging me and saying nice words, I wanted to go for 20 (lol) but it was not to be. I think it was my best month overall since I am betting. But of course streaks are not the most important, I think anybody can get hot. I hope to go on streaks similar to that in the future because lately I did not write so much or win so much.

rodman10 run
Back in the day, when Rodman10 was going for his 16th consecutive win on Betdistrict. Now the time came to finally answer the question: who is this guy?

Your nickname is basketball related, but you bet mostly on football. What’s your best sport?
Basketball is my favorite sport and I have to admit that I do not like football so much. But there is a big saying: ‘don’t bet with your heart’. I prefer to watch basketball and only bet when i sense tremendous value. Instead I bet on football, a sport that I follow but have no huge interest in … if that makes sense. I also like to bet on tennis sometimes.

Your previews are of good quality, written fluently and providing good input on the matches. Do you think the information is more important than the plain profit?
I can’t say that, I think the profit at the end of the day is the most important. But I also think that the information is what a tip should be about … and the user can extract what he wants from the picks. It is not clever to bet something just because somebody says so, if they do not give you any information. But the profit is the most important thing. I also have to say that I think there are many tipsters writing like me or better than me.

rodman tipster stats

You don’t seem to write tips for other websites. Why did you choose to write for Betdistrict?
I found your website and liked it. I don’t care about prize money or things like that and I don’t have too much time. I liked Betdistrict because it looked like a one man job with potential and I wanted to help and I also liked to write my ideas for a larger audience. I found overtime that this is a fair website with a very nice, small community. So I`m sticking around and writing when I have the time (hopefully more starting now).

What`s your honest opinion about Betdistrict?
Firstly I want to say that I appreciate the job that you do a lot, I think without too much help.. Secondly, I think there are some very smart tipsters here and users (I saw comments better than the picks). Thirdly, I think Betdistrict needs to invest more prize money in the tipster competition or something, so you can bring in more tipsters and writers. I can also say to maybe redesign a bit the website, but that is not my business and it’s ok anyway.

Thank you mate. A message for your followers and for Betdistrict’s readers?
I will try to write more than I did in the last months, so I hope you contine to follow me and to follow this website. Good luck and only good words for everybody!

7 for 7: Know your tipsters better. Episode 4, TOPSPIN77

Topspin77 is one of the most active tipsters on Betdistrict, with over 500 picks written and boosting a profit of about 100 units. Without further adieu, we`ll let the man present himself.

Coldgold betdistrict tipsterI am 38 years old, I am from Romania. I am married and I have a son. I support FC Universitatea Craiova and I like Neymar, I have seen him in Brazilian football many years ago in Santos. He is the last romantic in football as far as I`m concerned. Due to the fixed matches and corruption in football, I have transferred my attention to the sport that I practice and I love most, tennis. We have a great generation in tennis and we are very fortunate to see, every month, the likes of Monfils, Nadal, Federer, Wawrinka, Djokovic, Murray, Ferrer, Kohlschreiber or Nishikori. From WTA I like this “Tina Turner of tennis”, Serena Williams, an explosion of power and mental strength. I support Halep in every match. I like the intelligence of Radwanska.

How did you become involved in sports betting and when did you start earning constantly?
I always considered internet as an exciting way of making money. Combine that with my passion for sports and there you go, I got myself a part time job. This passion for sports and stats has been developed in my childhood when I was following the Serie A and Serie B.

Looking to find another source of revenue, I decided to get involved seriously in tipping and betting, ’cause I always felt I have the potential. It took me 1 year to get used to the traps of bookies, their habits and tricks. I mostly trade matches on Betfair, but there are some other good bookies also that I trust, including Betsson and Betsafe, our sponsors here.

As a tennis expert, what did you make of Stan Wawrinka’s superb Roland Garros 2015 win and what do you expect from Wimbledon? (which will be covered thoroughly on Betdistrict)
I never thought Wawrinka can win against Djokovic in this year’s Roland Garros. After the final we have probably seen why Djokovic has not been placed yet on the same level with Nadal and Federer by many experts. I mean the guy has the best tennis of his carreer now, it`s close to perfection, he returns so well, won many events, is number 1 at the moment in ATP – but he has just lost too many Grand Slam Finals (8) and won just 8. For example, Nadal won 14 and lost 6. Djokovic has these demons in his head in the key moments. This is why he has not won Roland Garros and it’s possible that he will never make it.

Wawrinka proved to the world that he can beat anyone in a good day. Stan waited for his moment and did what he had to do: butchered the opponents on both sides, backhand and forehand. He develops enormous power in his shots and I am simply amazed by him!

About this Wimbledon I think that the title can be won either by Djokovic, either by Murray. Normally, I do not see anyone able to Challenge them now. It would be nice to have new names on the scene like Feliciano Lopez, who is a true grass court player. But if we will have a mix of unpredictable events like in the 2014 US Open edition, who knows what might happen?! Berdych can also be there as winner, but his inner demons are huge opponents. Could Nick Kyrgios also a name? Maybe! I wish!

You are writing a lot of tips per day. Some people argue that placing so many bets is not a good strategy. Your record contradicts that statement. Your opinion on this?
I am writing about tennis and this is a sport that offers 5-6 simultaneous tournaments per week, each providing many matches per day. Choosing 5 is not a lot at all. It all depends on the time I have to study in the day.

In tennis betting it`s not like in football betting, for example. Tennis players are usually playing matches in maximum 2-3 consecutive weeks, going to have a rest for a week or so after. It’s clear that you know their form, in case you are following tennis daily. In the first part of the week you have a lot of options in the incipient phases of the tournaments, while in the last 3 days of the weeks you get quarter finals, semis and finals. You need just to be careful in picking the matches and the market that has the value.

Having this approach in football will definitely ruin you. I tested that on my money!

In June (e.n: time of the interview) I decided though to go for 1-2 matches per day. By the time this interview will be published, you probably saw the result of my work in this manner.

You use flat stakes. Why do you think this is a better approach than placing mixed stakes?
Let’s be clear, I always use the same stake for my bets: 20 euros. It doesn`t matter if the odds are 5.00 or 1.80. I never bet on odds less than 1.7 – that is the minimum odds for me to place a bet. In my view, flat stakes can make your bank control better. You need to address 2-5 bets and to analyze them deeply. A good analysis will bring you profit, do not look for the value of the odds first. Look at that after you took into account the form of the player, styles of play, conditions, etc. If the odds are under 1.70, I normally do not go for that bet. In other words, flat stakes are the expression of what I felt of those picks – best choices of that day.

How do you feel about the legislation changes for online betting in Eastern European countries?
I have not followed this topic too much. It’s a waste of time to read about. This niche – betting and tipping – will exist in one way or another and we have to adapt. The legislation is not in my hands so I just have the power to evaluate if I can make profit, how I can make profit. When it will not be profitable anymore I will find other stuff to work on.

What`s your honest opinion about Betdistrict?
I like Betdistrict because there are strict rules that guide you to deliver quality picks. The prize hunting behavior is forbidden which is a good thing. A great community has been created here. The prize amount in the tipster competition needs to be improved.

Thank you mate. A message for your followers and for Betdistrict’s readers?
I have been guided by what Robert Kiyosaki explains in his “Rich dad, poor dad” book: “Smart people have two or more sources of revenue.” You need to be sure you follow that all your life!

Also I would like to wish you all, happy holidays because the summer is on and so are the parties. 🙂

7 for 7: Know your tipsters better. Episode 3, ALCUNI

Coldgold betdistrict tipsterAdrian, going by the nickname of Alcuni, is a 44 year old Romanian, a husband and the proud father of a daughter. But at the same time he’s also one of the better and most appreciated tipsters around the web – and obviously we`re very happy to have him writing his expert French Ligue 2 tips every week on Betdistrict. Today we try to get into his head, see his inputs about the betting industry and find out why he has over 100 units in profit and a 9% Yield from 150 tips (as of June 2015). Ladies and gentlemen, it is now time for Alcuni!

How did you become involved in sports betting and when did you start earning constantly?
Funny story. I was at a bridge contest with my partner when he said “I’ll go place an accumulator on some hockey and tennis games”. I said “what”? And he told me all about it. It was back in September 2008. I asked him “ok, now give me some sure games to bet myself”. He told me 5 matches (I remember the precise date because between those games was a Germany – Romania friendly and I had it over 3.5). I went for the first time at a local bookie and played 25 Euros on those games. I won something like 200 euros and needless to say I was very content 🙂 Eh … call it beginner’s luck. You can imagine what was next, I discovered online sites with betting contest and also online bookies. For this I must say “thanks Bozo”.

What’s your most memorable win/loss in betting? Can you walk us through the experience?
A memorable win for me happened last year, when I played 100 Euro on Angers – Clermont 2 at odds of almost 7.50 at Pinnacle.

Memorable loss, it depends:
– if we refer at the biggest amount bet on a game this was 200 EURO on Inter- Cagliari over 0.5 at HT; of course it was 0-0 at half time and 2-2 in the end.
– if we refer to the biggest potential win, than this was also last year: Laval – Le Havre, 150 Euro bet on Le Havre @ 5.50 and lost over 600 Euro in potential profit; must mention Laval leveled it in the 94th minute at their single shoot on goal, from 35-40 meters; immediately the referee put an end to the game, as there were only 3 mins of injury time shown.
– the shameless loss of Switzerland against Luxembourg (1-2, odds around 1.05), but this was in my early betting days

Otherwise, I generally play between 30/50 EURO per game; when I am in crisis the amount is decreasing considerable (max 15 EURO/game).

Alcuni tipster Betdistrict tips

Your tips are exclusively based on Ligue 2 football. Why do you think it’s such a good league to bet on and how did you become an expert in the French second division?
At the beginning I was playing 2-5 games accumulators. At that time I was betting a lot of games from England’s lower leagues, but in the last 4 years I played almost 90-95% of my bets on France 2. I decided to follow a single division considering it’s better than to swim in a large number of teams/championships. I made a test first time (I played “on paper” almost the entire 2nd half of the season 2011/2012 and surprisingly for me the results were quite good). Of course, I started to watch live a lot of matches, also highlights, to read French papers, stats … in one word to do my homework in a professional manner. There’s a lot of work to do ’till one can become an expert; now I am just a bit more serious than in my beginnings.

Clearly your betting style is going with underdogs. Why?
As you know, Ligue 2 includes quite leveled teams. It’s hard to bet sometimes but I can’t agree with your statement. NO, I don’t bet on underdogs. I try to find value in each game (maybe it’s an utopia but … I try). I like to play high odds (another thanks to a tipster named pescadorul) and when I see a pattern in the results of some teams, I follow this pattern (not always successfully). It’s true that these days I bet on underdogs more, but only because it’s the end of the season and we can see a lot of surprises at this stage.

You are writing for other websites as well and I noticed that wherever you go, you are one of the most appreciated tipsters – including on Betdistrict. You have very good stats everywhere, but not the best. Why do you think people like your picks so much?
It`s true, I am present on several websites. First of all, I’m tipping matches that I bet on. I explain why I chose a particular option, team news, strange results if any and so on. I bet (where I`m allowed to) on almost all games from Ligue 2. In this way some other bettors can read, judge and play what they consider safe. When you are winning of course everybody likes you (except maybe those you compete with). I guess these are the main reasons.

What`s your honest opinion about Betdistrict?
Here on Betdistrict is a small, but active community. You can find bets from a lot of sports and first of all I feel it is a peaceful climate. I wish you to grow continuously and to become one of the top 3 profile sites soon.

Thank you mate. A message for your followers and for Betdistrict’s readers?
First of all, we must always be disciplined – but this is the hardest part of betting, I think. Be moderate, not greedy. Always do your own homework no matters what Alcuni (or anybody) is saying. Think for yourself, it`s your own money you are betting. And take a breath of air, be patient … better days are coming soon!
